I have a primary degree in History of Art and English Lit and ran an art gallery for two years, wrote for magazines, wrote fiction, and honestly, tried every job in Arts that would allow me to be creative!
It’s sadly not easy to find a career in the Arts that always pays, so I’m back in college doing a Psychology Masters online and hope to continue with a PhD. I'll be finished in 2020. It took some soul searching and understanding my strengths to realise I wanted to work in mental health services.
I can offer advice and support to anyone thinking of a change in this direction. I’m so much happier and have found a path that I excel in so much more that before. Even after only four months it’s clear this suits me more than anything else. I’m 35 and changing careers at this time, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for my job happiness.
